Kyle & Cassidy

Kyle and Cassidy are two of the sweetest people that I got the privilege of meeting at James Madison University. We were all part of a Christian ministry on campus called CRU, or Campus Crusade for Christ. Kyle was an intern and Cassidy was one of the senior women that I looked up to. Throughout their time at JMU, I was able to watch them grow in their faith and lead others to do the same. Their heart for the Lord and each other has always been so evident to me in their lives.

Kyle proposed to Cassidy on the dock where they spent their first date talking and slow-dancing for hours. HOW ROMANTIC!! After I posted that I had coordinated my first wedding back in November, Cassidy reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in coordinating their Valentine’s Day weekend wedding! Of course I said yes! Over the next few months, we kept in close contact via email and FaceTime. Y’all, Cassidy is the most organized person I know! She had a list, spreadsheet, or answer to EVERY question I asked her!

I loved how involved Kyle was throughout the entire planning process! A lot of grooms leave details to the bride to make decisions about but he was a part of every step! His involvement really made their day about THEM! He’s a trooper for staying on our many FaceTime meetings where we talked all of the details!

The Helmick’s got married in downtown Roanoke, Virginia’s Charter Hall. The venue was PERFECT for a JMU wedding, even down to the purple and gold chairs! Waking up the morning of the wedding, it was sleeting and the radar didn’t look like it was going to let up. Thankfully, the mother nature was on our side! Right before pictures were beginning, the clouds went away and the sun make its appearance! They had an intimate ceremony and reception with many family members and friends! Their guest really knew how to keep the dance floor alive!
