5 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Wedding Planner

Growing up, I always wanted to be a wedding planner but never dreamed that it could be an actual career. To my knowledge, most people didn’t have a planner or coordinator to help with their wedding. Why spend the extra money when Mom, aunt Carol, or cousin Sue can take care of all of the details on wedding day by running around like a chicken with their head cut off to make sure the day goes off without a hitch? Does this sound like something you believe? If so, that’s okay! A lot of people think this. But you know, it doesn’t have to be that way. Your wedding can be a time where EVERYONE in your family can enjoy the momentous occasion. Today, I’m sharing 5 reasons why you should consider hiring a wedding planner for your wedding.

1. Support

Planning a wedding can be so much fun! Choosing a dress, selecting the perfect vendor team, and taste testing yummy food are all exciting aspects of the process that most couples look forward to. Maybe you think that if you hire a wedding planner you’ll have to give that all up… but, that’s not true! When you hire a wedding planner, you aren’t outsourcing the entire wedding planning process. A wedding planner works alongside their clients to support them throughout the process. Ultimately, the job of a wedding planner is to handle whatever aspect of the process that you need help with! They can keep you on the right track, handle wedding day logistics, or put together the whole thing! Wedding planning is a spectrum and is always tailored to your needs!

2. Stress-Reliever

Planning a wedding can cause a tremendous amount stress on yourself and relationships between your significant other and family. Engagement is supposed to be a time of enjoyment and preparation for your future, not just one day. A wedding planner is helpful in creating a stress-free experience for a bride and groom. During the weeks and months leading up to the big day, a professional will ensure that all of the little details are taken care of and that there is a bullet proof plan for the day of. On actual wedding day, the planner will take care of design set up, greeting and managing vendors, and ensuring that the day goes according to schedule. This allows everyone to be fully present instead of worrying about the nitty gritty details on the most important day of your life. After all, you’ve invested so much money into this day, you should soak in every moment!!

3. Time-Saver

Maybe you have a full-time job, social life, or live out of town? Setting up married life requires a lot of planning, as well. You must figure out where you will live, potentially move, and establish what your future will look like together (all while continuing to invest in your relationship). It’s hard to balance all of the aspects in your life that are changing because you only have but so many hours in a day. By hiring a wedding planner, they will be able to help you streamline the process through budget tracking, advice, and unbiased, professional experience. Your wedding planner will be able to take a huge load off your plate in order to create time to focus on the things that truly matter.

4. Save Money

According to Forbes, the average wedding costs $30,000. Is the investment in a wedding planner really worth it? The biggest advocate for not having a wedding planner is the price. Many people think that you have to have a super expensive, fancy wedding to need a wedding planner. Others believe that the money that is invested into a wedding planner could be used better on something else. However, anyone can benefit from a wedding planner. An expert can help you determine budget allocations in order to get the most for your money. They will also be helpful tracking the numbers and keeping up with payment schedules in order to avoid overspending and late fees. Finally, they will know what you SHOULD be paying for each expense. They won’t allow you to overpay for something that’s not necessary or suggest cheaper alternative. In the end, hiring a wedding planner can actually SAVE you money!

5. They know the BEST of the Best!

Your wedding planner has probably worked dozens of weddings (this year)! With all of that experience, they’ve worked with all types of vendors. For that reason, they will be able to recommend the BEST vendors for your vision and style. This can save you time searching for the perfect vendor team. Additionally, they know the quality of work that most vendors produce if they’ve already worked with them! They’ll be able to suggest the most legit, high-quality professionals for the job!
