Engagement photos

Caleb and I haven’t ever had professional photos taken of us so to say we were PUMPED for our engagement session was an understatement!

The first things we needed to do was plan what we were going to wear. I wanted the photos to be neutral and really showcase ourselves and the background so we decided against any bold colors or patterns! We decided to “dress up” for both outfits but wanted a fancy and more casual dressy outfit (if that even makes sense)?

I felt pretty overwhelmed with the process of finding an outfit during weird shopping conditions with COVID but found the perfect white dress from Eternal Ivory! They had so many cute dresses and the entire selection of dresses is white, which was a lot harder to find than I thought! I also wore a dusty blue lace maxi dress from Altar’d State and thought it would be the perfect casual summer dress!

Caleb paired a blue button down with khaki pants for our “casual” outfit and a white shirt, champagne tie, and navy pants for our dressy outfit! I love the contrast that both of the outfits had with mine!

We decided to do our engagement photos at a spot that is pretty special for the two of us — Caleb’s family farm! It’s been in his family for almost 4 generation and we have spent an incredible amount of time there while we have been together. It was so sweet for us to capture our engagement photos in a place that means so much to the both of us! Highly suggest looking for a place that is special to you and your significant other if you’re trying to decide where to take your photos!

Y’all — if you’re engaged or will be engaged at some point… listen to me for just a second!! You HAVE to do an engagement session with the photographer you have hired for your wedding. It gives you a chance to get to know each other, learn how to pose, and get comfortable in front of the camera! We had so much fun with Kaitlyn during our esession and can’t wait to work with her again for our wedding πŸ™‚

Okay, now for what you really came to see — some sneak peaks! I’ve been trying to pick a favorite all weekend and seriously can’t! Which one do you like the most??

The most dreamy glow!!
Fun fact: I NEVER let Caleb (or anyone else for that matter) pick me up so when Kaitlyn suggested it, he was ALL for it! Turns out that trusting your photographer means you’ll end up with some stunning photos even if you’re scared of falling haha!
We had cows in the back of our prom pictures! I love that we got to keep that tradition alive with our engagement photos πŸ™‚
Caleb, I love the way you look at me!! πŸ™‚
