We made these decisions awhile back but all of the bridesmaids are starting to receive their dresses so I thought it might be a good time to share my process of choosing bridal party attire!
For the ladies….
We opted to go with Azazie, an online bridesmaids dress retailer, for a couple of reasons. First, my bridesmaids are scattered all over the east coast. It was going to be nearly impossible for everyone to meet on the same day to pick out their dress. Second, their options are seriously endless. Azazie’s has hundreds of dresses in various fits, colors, lengths, and fabrics! If you can’t find something you like here, I don’t know where you would! Lastly, they were affordable, offered free returns, and the quality was extremely high (I have had clients in the past rave about dresses from Azazie so I trusted their previous experience).
I debated whether or not to have matching dresses or let my bridesmaids choose their dresses themselves. After some time (or a lot of time), I finally came to the conclusion that every person is different and has a unique body style. Instead of forcing all of my bridesmaids into the same dress that may or may not be flattering on them, I decided to let them choose their own dress! Obviously, I gave them some guidance with color, length, fabric, etc. so that their choices looked cohesive to the vision I have for our wedding but wanted my bridesmaids to feel confident and beautiful in whatever dress they picked! I can’t give away all the secrets but let’s just say, I’m excited for you to see their stunning picks on October 25th!!
PRO TIP: If you want to ensure that each bridesmaid has a unique dress, make sure that you ask them to send you a picture to confirm before the order is placed! I had a couple want the same dress so I confirmed dresses on a first come, first serve basis!
For the guys….
Caleb and I went to Men’s Warehouse to look at the different rental options available. I’ve always known exactly what I wanted the groomsmen in our wedding to wear so I made my vote pretty quick. Caleb took some time debating on what he thought would look best because his main request was that he stood out from the rest of the guys. Rightfully so! It is his wedding day 🙂
We ultimately chose a Calvin Kline suit with all of the accessories included for the groomsmen. This made it super simple for them to pick everything up all in one place and all match on the wedding day (right now to the shoes)! For Caleb, we chose a complimentary custom suit and let me tell you… it looks SO good!!
