Photography

Photos are the only thing that you’ll tangibly have after the wedding. They capture the precious moments that you plan so perfectly in time so that you can cherish them forever. That is why choosing the perfect photographer was our top priority in planning our wedding. Because it is so important to us, we spent considerable time and allocated a larger portion of our budget to cover this expense and ensure we get exactly what we want.

It almost seems that everyone is a photographer. The options are literally endless. However, there is a difference between a professional photographer and someone with a really nice camera who likes to take photos. A professional photographer has a consistent style, understands posing to ensure that the photos are most flattering, and invests into their craft in order to constantly improve their skills.

We had a couple of main criteria that we were looking for as we searched for the perfect professional photographer: bright + airy photography style, has ample coverage to capture #allthethings, falls within our budget, and has a personality that we love to be around!

Being a professional in the industry, I had a really hard time narrowing down all of the photography “friendors” (friend-vendors) to just one. However, Caleb and I are ecstatic to have Kaitlyn Phipps Photography capture our wedding day!

I met Kaitlyn this past winter at a Christian conference I attended with my college. I had followed her on Instagram for a couple of years and completely fan-girled when I saw her in the lobby of our hotel. Later that weekend, we were able to sit down to connect and chatted for a couple hours. Her heart for her clients was so evident in that conversation and I left feeling like I had made a new best friend! Plus, I love that she boldly lives out her faith in Jesus, which is also super important to Caleb and I 🙂

Kaitlyn checked off all of our boxes! First, she was available — praise the Lord! I was concerned about being such short notice and knowing fall is going to be super hectic for wedding vendors. Second, she offered a complete package with 8 hours of coverage, a second shooter, and a complimentary engagement session all within our allocated budget. Lastly, we knew that she would surround us with love, joy, and lots of laughs for every moment of our wedding!

Y’all — personality is so important! Your photographer is with you ALL DAY LONG! Choose someone you could be best friends with 🙂

We are so excited to have Kaitlyn capture our big day! Until then, we will have to wait for our engagement photos in August!
