Nate + Annie

Nate + Annie’s wedding was such a dream I don’t even know where to start!! They chose a romantic estate wedding at Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA! The day was filled with blush accents, lettered signs, stunning floral arrangements, and personal touches! This wedding was super special to me because I have been good friends with them for almost 3 years (so obviously there were many tears shed throughout the day)!

Nate + Annie opted to not do a first look. Instead, they chose a 10 minute getaway following their ceremony! Honestly, I LOVED that! Wedding day can be a hectic day of photos, small talk, and moving from one activity to another. Yes, all of those things are important. However, it’s important to take the time to step aside and appreciate the moment! You only get this day once. From now on,  I will 100% be suggesting a 10 minute getaway for all of my clients who don’t do a first look!

It’s hard to choose a favorite part of their day because there were so many things that filled my heart with lots of joy! Perhaps a phrase that speaks to all of those moments is the intentionality that was evident in the relationships with their loved ones! Two particular events stood out in my mind: After Annie had gotten ready, she took a few minutes to pray alone with her mother before the festivities began! It was such a sweet time for the two to praise the Lord for what he has done to bring Nate + Annie together and prepare their hearts for what was to come moving forward! The second was when Nate + Annie read letters that they wrote to each other at the ceremony. I’m a sucker for a heartfelt letter. What a special time that was as they were able to share their love story with their family and friends! Plus, they will be able to keep those letters and look back on them years down the road!

Here are a few of my favorite highlights from the day!!

Look at her fathers reaction *Cue the tears*!!
Pro tip: Make your dog the ring bearer!! McCoy is so cute!!
Throwing streamers came from one of their college traditions! At James Madison University football games, students throw streamers after every touchdown! Both Nate + Annie are JMU alumni, so it was only fitting to included touches from Harrisonburg in their day!

This couple was so much fun to work with!! Their laughter and zest for life was contagious!
Annie was absolutely glowing as a bride!!
